The G-Shock G7900 is yet another great model of the G-Shock line bringing great value for the money, a beautiful yet tough build and a plethora of features to help you get throughout the day.
From alarms to countdown timer and stopwatch this G-Shock features all the basic functions expected from the G-Shock line. Besides those it also comes with moon-phase data, especially helpful for those working near the sea / ocean. And to make things complete it also comes with water resistance capabilities up to 660 ft.
The case is made of the typical G-Shock resin with different color markers and the always present “G-Shock” inscription. Before even considering this G-Shock, you need to know that it has a 50 mm case which is pretty big even for G-Shock standards. As a comparison term, one of the biggest G-Shock also entitled the “king” has a 55.5 mm case. I would recommend this G-Shock to those with either big wrists or determination to accommodate a big watch. Otherwise look for something sleeker. We have plenty reviewed on our site!
It is true that you will probably feel the lack of advanced features like the atomic timekeeping, solar charging, or the triple sensor, especially if you had a more advanced G-Shock before, but you can’t have them all in this price range.
This is what I would call the average G-Shock. It is reliable, tough as a rock, and it does well what was designed to do. If you do not want to spend a fortune on fancy G-Shocks like the MRG then you might want to consider the G7900 as a trusty timepiece.
