The fashionable watch that comes with the functional build for adventure sports. You can rock it when in town or when you're up for a new sporty adventure.
When you think about watches, you may think that everything has been invented already and watches sure cannot bring any new stuff to the table. Well, you couldn’t be much further from the truth as the respected watch manufacturers out there won’t stop from designing better models that have features you’d never imagine a watch could have a decade ago.
Is it clear for everyone why is Seiko, such a famous watch manufacturer?
We all know it as Seiko, but it’s Seiko Holding Corporation the name we should talk about. The Japanese holding company includes several subsidiaries which manufacture and sell clocks, jewelry, watches, semiconductors, electronic devices, and optical products.
Seiko is anything but the new company as its history went back in the 19th century. Meaning “exquisite” or “success” in Japanese, Seiko has become a famous watch manufacturer (among other things) that never stops creating exciting and innovative watches.
Even if Seiko released the first automatic quartz in the late 80s, its contribution to the watches industry goes all the way beyond that.
To this day, Seiko is a symbolic name in the world-class diver’s watches, robust and made to take the abuse, ready to handle all sorts of challenges, above and below the water.
What’s to say about the Seiko Prosper Street series?
For the people within the watch industry, creating watches that take all the difficulties of adventure sports is one of the biggest challenges. The Seiko Prospex collection includes timepieces for anyone looking for an adventure on land, in the sky or the sea.
The new Street Series has the design of 1975 original as the primary source of inspiration. The watches come with the famous outer protector, but they come in various colors which go with the contemporary lifestyles. The watches are versatile, and the price is affordable, considering the overall value.
Seiko has been trying for a while now to step up the game for their Solar Field Tuna collections, looking to give a professional look a more designer’s vibe (just like it did with the 2018’s Diver Solar that was a result of collaborating with Lowercase). It’s the main reason for which the new Seiko SNE537P1 has an urbanized feel to it.
The Prospex Street Series goes by the fundamental principle of the world of Prospex, which stays connected with the current world. The new series is all about Seiko’s innovative diver’s watches with a titanium case, without compromising on the looks. The watches are designed in a modern style, the fact is reinforced, and the final product is lightweight but rugged and ready to take both daily and excess wear. The silicone bands are enhanced, withstanding the challenging environments, and the looks aren’t skipped on anymore.
The SNE537P1 in a nutshell
The new SNE537P1 is a pleasant surprise for the solar Field Tuna range, as it’s both long-lasting and good overall value. It stands out with a particular fashionable style, without sacrificing on the features or characteristics of any Seiko watch.
The SNE537P1 comes with the proprietary Solar caliber V157 that runs for ten months when entirely charged. The precision is excellent (+/-15seconds per month), and the watch comes with many great features altogether.
The features, the build, and the specifications
The 200m “Field Tuna” case is rugged and compliant with the international standard for diver’s watch (ISO6425). It has a 46mm wide case, and the design isn’t far from the “Tuna Can” design with the outer shroud that makes the watch look cool, without compromising on its toughness in any way.
Both the case and the shroud are IP-coated, and the deep blue goes fantastic with the bezel insert and the dial. The screws, the lugs, the crown, and the bezel knurling are made with nice looking gunmetal black, giving the watch a strong feel.
The SNE537P1 comes with a textured bezel insert and a unique cut for the first 15 minutes on the minute track. It rotates like any other traditional diver’s bezel, with 120 clicks uni-directional. The textured bezel insert isn’t the only detail that makes the SNE537P1 pop out, as the rubber strap is textured too. It’s a flexible silicone strap that matches the color of the case. The textured goes throughout the strap, maintaining the “Street” theme that we notice on the dial.
Another feature that makes the SNE537P1 stand out is the movement which includes a quick start and an over-charge prevention system as well.
The case is made of stainless steel and plastic, but it features hard coating, which explains the toughness of the watch. The glass material is Hardlex, which takes the scratches and excessive wear pretty well.
The movement type is solar, as previously mentioned and the watch has a high precision. It runs for ten months when completely charged.
The Lumibrite on hands and indexes is going to make it easier for you to read it in poor light conditions, increasing the versatility and reliability of the watch.
The screw case back and the screw-down crown adds to the list of essential features, sustaining the 200m/660ft water-resistance of the watch.
The watch also includes date display and its Three Dimensional Aluminum Bezel is unidirectional.
What’s our final take on the watch?
When you’re looking for a diver’s watch that you can rock for your casual streetwear, the SNE537P1 is a great option to keep in mind.
The beautiful details with a textured dial and textured silicone strap give it that elegant feel that you may have been looking in a diver’s watch until now. The excellent build, the reliable performance, the features sure add into the mix, giving you a watch that you can take when diving or going for a night out in town — your choice.
