Tissot is a well-known company for manufacturing some of the best watches in terms of quality and prestige

It is important to note that the item we review now is the 2014 version, not the 2013 one. It is kind of hard to see the differences between the two because not so many things changed when it comes to the design. Below you can see a comparison between the 2013 version and the 2014 version. The other two photos are of the 2014 Seastar. As we can see the main aspect differences are the lack of the prominent side serrations in the 2013 model and small changes in the dial. Other than that the bezel on the 2014 version is made of ceramic and more importantly, Tissot kept the automatic movement mechanism in the newer version.

While there are other versions with rubber bands I always prefer the stainless steel bracelets because they are generally speaking more resistant and comfortable when wet. You surely know how rubber feels after soaked in water. Also, steel offers a plus of style and class.

Tissot Seastar Powermatic 1000-11

If you ever had automatic watches before you may know that the movement mechanism uses the wind of your hand to power itself. If the watch is not worn for long periods of time it is advised to be kept in a watch winder so that it stays accurate. In the 2014 version of the Tissot Seastar, the company managed to offer a double power reserve, from 40 hours, what it initially was, to 80 hours.

At 42 mm the case is neither too big nor too small. I would say it perfectly fits the standard of men’s watches. The brushed stainless steel bracelet feels quite great on the wrist and it features a pretty standard clasp locking system.

While there are other watches with higher underwater resistances the 300-meter capability on the Tissot Seastar Powermatic is still more than enough for most people. At 300 meters you can’t even dive without some special kind of suit so don’t worry when using the watch for any kind of activities like scuba diving or recreational diving.

The watch comes with a great design and can be worn with any kind of formal suits and clothing adding a drop of class to your image.
