And you don’t need to go very far either as you’re only one click away from getting the perfect watch for your needs and wallet.

Why take a look at Victorinox watches?

Victorinox is a knife manufacturer from Switzerland, and we all know it from its worldwide famous Swiss Army knives. The knives are made of Swedish steel from Sandvik, handling the excess use for a very long time.

But it’s not only knives that Victorinox is manufacturing. Watches, apparel, and travel gear is also on their list, and each category is well-known for the overall quality and performance.

Victorinox is also manufacturing sport watches, and many of their models are water resistant up to 250 meters, with most of them being water resistant to 100 meters. The watches stand out with their accuracy and incredible resistance to excess wear.

Many of the Victorinox watches include both mechanical and quartz movement, so you can easily have your pick.

Victorinox Alliance Sport Chronograph in a nutshell

The icy dark case, the matte grey dial with lovely looking green accents are going to be the first things to notice on the Victorinox Alliance Sport Chronograph, but the watch is a lot more than meets the eye. When you know a thing or two about watches, the price isn’t going to throw you off either, considering the quality you’re about to get.

What makes the Alliance stand out from the crowd is the impressive amount of detail in the dial. The monobloc dial has a beautiful design, with cylindrical ridges that form three registers. On the outer circumference of the dial, you’re going to notice a circular and thin channel. Three mounds are leading to a seamless foundation for every round with hour marker that has a hyphen shape. The attention to the detail is, and the oft-maligned date window features an exciting angle that increases the depth and texture.

All the colors combine naturally and pleasantly. The watch includes various shades of grey and a creamy green Super-Luminova that are standing out thanks to the sporty red indicators. The nicely polished gunmetal black case is the perfect canvas for all the details, completing the fresh appearance of the watch.

The consistency and the legibility don’t disappoint as the tachymeter bezel insert is laser-engraved.

It’s not only the details that amaze, but also the quality of every single one of them, making one wonder just one question: how come you’re not paying more?

Let’s go further with the details!

Victorinox Alliance Sport Chronograph review

In all fairness, Victorinox watches didn’t revolutionize the watches world with the movement innovations. It’s the impressive dial and quality of the case that makes them so popular among the timepieces aficionado.

The Alliance Sport Chronograph comes with Swiss0-made Ronda 5030, including small seconds, 30 minute and 12-hours counters. The precision is excellent as it’s a Swiss made watch- and one thing that we know about Swiss is that they sure like accuracy!

On the side note, some expected the watch to come with ETA 251.262 quartz chronograph movement, but this one works very well as well. However, Ronda movement doesn’t provide other functionality beyond the basics, but it never disappoints on the precision and reliability either.

The center-mounted second’s needle hand sustain the classic layout of the watch. The hand has around counterweight that resembles a Swiss Army knife.

Let’s continue with the description; the watch comes with a genuine rubber strap that feels nice onto the skin. It’s a long and comfortable strap that has just the right thickness and doesn’t bounce around much. Some may not find the 21mm wide lugs to be enough. After all, the Alliance Sport Chronograph is a large watch that could have used a wider strap. Nevertheless, the belt is versatile and manages to stay subtle, without compromising the overall look in any way.

The screw-in case back makes the watch ready to take some splashes, and the watch is water resistant up to 10 ATM/100M/330ft. It comes with scratch-resistant and triple-coated anti-reflective sapphire crystal, considering the harsh conditions and excess wear. The case is made with high-grade Swiss made stainless steel (316), which is why the Alliance is an excellent choice for hiking, cycling, trail running and any other outdoor adventure it may come to mind.

Is there something to be improved?

As we’ve already mentioned, some expected the watch to come with another type of movement as the current one only covers the basics. It’s a pet peeve that is easy to overcome when you’re taking a look at the whole picture, though.

Let’s also mention that some voices out there think that a wider strap would have worked with the large dial a lot better. It’s a nice looking watch that sits on the larger size, which explains the minor complaint about the width of the strap.

What’s our final thought on the Victorinox Alliance Sport Chronograph?

The monobloc dial and the exciting details are going to be the first to notice on the Alliance, but its fantastic build and great functions (chronograph and tachymeter) functions are going to amaze as well. The subtle amount of dial details is completing the picture, and the price makes it an excellent investment for any watch aficionado.

The Alliance Sport Chronograph is a robust, bold and reliable timepiece ready to take any challenge in a sleek aesthetic profile. It’s a great sporting partner that you can rely on when tracking, biking or hiking. The stopwatch needle counterweight, the tachymeter-scale bezel and the markers reminding you of the Swiss Army knife are going to seal the deal for many.
