The G-Shock GA-110TS is a pretty recent model from Casio coming to the world of G-Shocks with a stunningly beautiful design that combines the utility of digital displays and the classicism of analog ones through the ana-digi display that it features. Straight from the start, you should be aware that this is a massive watch coming at 55 mm in diameter and 17 mm thickness so before reaching further think twice if this size will fit on your wrist as expected.

Good, now if you figured it out that you like big beautiful G- Shock watches let’s get to more specific things. The display is split into two different negative displays with different functionalities. The one on the top shows the date in the standard mode and the other one is showing the time. Using the four standard G-Shock buttons on the sides you can switch from different functionalities based on your needs at a certain moment like the stopwatch, calendar or maybe setting the alarms. Also, Casio used a pretty interesting mechanism on this watch in order both the analog hands and the digital display to be adjustable using the same buttons. It may seem slightly difficult at the beginning to fully use all the features with ease but once you get the hang of it, things come up pretty easy.

The band is made of a high-quality resin material, the one that Casio uses on most G-Shocks, mainly because it is a type of plastic that passed the time test. It is tough and highly resistant to all sorts of shocks and feels great on the hand. The clasp uses two pins for extra securing and multiple holes for various wear sizes. Speaking of the dial window, it is made of a highly resistant mineral glass that can support loads of shocks without gaining a scratch.

LED illumination

However, I found some things to be more or less frustrating. It is true that it has an LED backlight but in low light it is almost impossible to make readings of any kind. Although some may not consider this as a drawback I found it worth to be specified. Along the not so pleasing aspects, I would say that it lacks a self-solar charging system. So many G-Shocks these days have this, yet it is not the case of the G-Shock GA-110TS, so you will have to change the batteries every couple of years. That’s pretty much it regarding the drawbacks. Not many, but worth noting.

This is definitely a watch for people who know to appreciate the appearance of a quality watch. If you are the kind of person that requires a tough watch that is capable of withstanding some of the worst treatments but at the same time come with a great looking design and lots of useful functions, all at a competitive price, then this is a watch for you.
